About Us<\/h2>\n

Aragogamma was founded in 1970 with the objective of sterilizing surgical sutures manufactured by the company itself, establishing itself as a service provider in irradiation and sterilization technology. This process currently features high-quality service systems as well as the latest IT advancements.<\/p>\n

The experience gained over these 50 years provides us with a deep knowledge of the technology and allows us to optimize the advice our clients receive.<\/p>\n

The significant development of the plastics industry led to a sharp increase in the use of plastic packaging, especially so-called \"single-use\" items in medicine and pharmaceutical specialties. Since the systems' parameter to be controlled was temperature\u2014and plastic is susceptible to heat\u2014these systems became unsuitable for this type of material. On the other hand, sterilization by radiation allowed for the treatment of many products at room temperature.<\/p>\n

The sterilization of medical products depends on the radiation's ability to inactivate and eliminate pathogenic or non-pathogenic microorganisms present in the product. This activity began in the 1950s with single-use products such as hypodermic needles and surgical gloves; it was subsequently applied to the fields of pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food products.<\/p>\n

We define \"product\" as any type of raw material or finished product, including the packaging or wrapping material with which the product is sterilized.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

For decades, we have incorporated new technological advances that provide greater control over our manufacturing process. Aragogamma enjoys the trust of major pharmaceutical and medical device companies.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n

1970<\/h5>

We inaugurated the plant in Les Franqueses del Vall\u00e8s, with the Installation Authorization from the Nuclear Safety Council (formerly JEN). That same year, we obtained authorizations for the sterilization of medical devices. The first products treated were our own sutures. Apparel, non-woven gowns, and Petri dishes.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

1970-1980<\/h5>

New products were added for treatment. Gloves, gowns and surgical drapes, Petri dishes, and antibiotics for burn victims. Expansion of our warehouses.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n

1984<\/h5>

This year, the second generation of the Arag\u00f3 family joined the business structure.

Genetic improvement made its way into our facilities with the treatment of pollen to obtain haploids.

The commercial diversification of products for irradiation continues to grow. We received FDA authorization.
